Lecture Title: Stain-Free Quantitative Phase Imaging of Sperm Cells for In Vitro Fertilization
Research Interests:
Prof. Shaked heads the Biomedical Optical Microscopy, Nanoscopy and Interferometry Research Group, a large experimental group performing a multidisciplinary research involving optical engineering, imaging and sensing in biological systems, optical therapy, and biophysics. Specific interests of research include: biomedical optical microscopy and nanoscopy, optical interferometric systems (including interferometric phase microscopy and optical coherence tomography), optical imaging and therapy using nano-particles in biological cells, optical signatures of cancer and fertility problems, and three-dimensional optical imaging and holography for biomedical applications.
Achievements and Publications:
Prof. Shaked is the author of more than 70 refereed journal papers and more than 130 conference papers, and several book chapters, patents, and an edited book on Biomedical Optical Phase Microscopy and Nanoscopy.
